Thorsten Purkus leads the hotel asset management division at Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, overseeing a portfolio with a value of more than €5 billion and comprising 84 assets across eleven countries. With a deep-rooted background in hospitality and real estate, he brings extensive international expertise to the role.
Prior to joining Union Investment, Thorsten was Managing Partner at PVP Hospitality LLC, an advisory firm specializing in hotel development and asset management across Africa. He also served as Head of Hotel Asset Management at Munich Hotel Partners GmbH.
Thorsten Purkus spent 15 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, culminating in his role as Vice President of Feasibility & Development Finance for Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia. There, he led a team responsible for the appraisal and valuation of approximately 200 projects annually.
